Dance for Targeted Groups

Dance for Targeted Groups

dancED's targeted group programmes are exactly that...targeted. So there is no set programmes. If you book a session or rolling-programme of targeted group sessions, these will be tailored to those children's needs and levels.

Whether they are a group of children with SEND needs like autism, ADHD and learning difficulties or a group of children who are Pupil Premium and you would like to give them extracurricular opportunities, these programmes will cater to your children's needs.

These programmes can be booked as one off sessions, weekly session, fortnightly sessions or monthly sessions based on the needs of the children and school.

So why book these types of sessions?

Well, as stated before, these lessons will be adapted and tailored to the children in the group. I will consider noise level, sensory aspects, delivery techniques, resources like visual cues and so on. These sessions can act as an inclusive tool for children who can find the class room difficult.

Dance doesn't always have to be about learning steps to a song; it is versatile. Maybe in these sessions you would lke to enage your students in a story, maybe they need to develop their fine and gross motor skills to help them access English lessons more easily.

Maybe you have a group of children with EAL needs and would like them to learn the language through more kinesteic, engaging , fun means.

Targeted Group Sessions can be anything you and your children require, which can almost always be taught through dance and movement.

Small groups are at the heart of this programme, to ensure full coverage of needs and support. They are designed for a group size of 2 children minimum and 8 children maximum.

dancED recommends a group of 6 children.

Due to the nature of the targeted programmes, advanced booking will be required and a phone call or video meeting will be needed to discuss requirements and needs of the children involved, so that a programmes can be tailored and developed accordingly to ensure the children get the most out of their sessions.
